Some pop-ups messages might be helpful for you but you should read the detail before clicking it. Pop-ups are basically advertiser message an can be a disturbance to what you are doing on net.
If you are working with Internet Explorer and want to block the pop-ups. Open the Internet Explorer and click on >Tools menu >Pop-up Blocker option, here you can Turn Off Pop-ups from all websites. But you have option to allow some websites for pop-up. For this purpose open the Pop-ups Blocker Setting. Here you can add some specific websites with trusted pop-up and click Add.
