Minus 2 – ‘Be Noni’ + ‘Fire Dey Go’

Minus 2 who hails from Ondo state and was born on the 6th of August 1980 has been interested in music for a long time. Being the fifth child on a family with six he focused a lot of his attention on music and artistes most especially the Pied Piper of R and B, R. Kelly, who was his inspiration in his early years.
In 1998 he enrolled into the technical school known as Nigeria Opportunities Industralization Centre [NOIC] located in Gbagada. It was in the school where he met an artiste that we are more than familiar with 9ice. After developing their friendship which was based on music they formed a two-man group called Abinibi.
After three years they however went their separate ways to focus on their respective solo careers. After studying the various trends prevalent within Nigeria’s urban music scene Minus 2 is out to make a heavy impact in the music game. Minus 2 is currently signed to Stealth Records and is more than ready and capable to storm the charts with his unique R and B style.Minus 2 [a.k.a Omo Eleniyan] is currently single.

Praiz just ended his performance at One Mic Naija where he headlined the show.

Mo’Hits All Stars – What You Like

Mo’Hits are the without a doubt the hottest Nigerian pop group at the moment. And every member has his role to play:
Don Jazzy (do I really need to say anything? Enigma, Kanye signing? Go figure), D’banj (Oliver, Kanye Signing, BET Award), Dr. SID (one of the hottest pop albums out, top show performer), D’Prince (despite heavy criticism, he has stayed in demand), K-Switch (the young lad might still be in the background but he spices up every song he jumps on) and of course Wande Coal (we all anticipate his comeback). Yup, they are hot!
Enjoy this joint and tell us what you think

Trybesmen – Asiko Laye

Undoubtedly one of the most influential Nigerian Rap group of all time. The Trybesmen took the country by storm. The group consisted of 3 members. Lanre Dabiri aka “eLDee the Don”, Kunle Bello aka “Kaboom the Detonator” and Mfon Essien aka “Freestyle tha Shogun”.
I just had to share this brilliant joint with yall titled ‘Asiko laye’…

Don Jazzy produces song for Beyoncé & Co.

Pop queen BeyoncĂ©, her husband rapper/mogul Jay-Z and Kanye West’s eagerly anticipated joint project “Watch the Throne” was recently released. Titled “Lift Off”, the lead single from that album has an upbeat sound with synthesizer sounds and has the makings of an anthem. The liner notes revealed that the track features Nigeria’s Don Jazzy – frequent collaborator and close friend of singer D’Banj – as a co-producer.
The usually restrained Guardian UK gave the track a raving review: “As galaxies form overhead, BeyoncĂ© sings “Take you to the moon/ Take you to the stars.” Now that’s selling it. The track is bombastic – the synths recall triumphalist opulence.”

Hailing from Hackney, London, Tomilola ‘Reali-T’ Ayilara is a British-born Nigerian rapper. He first ventured into recording hip-hop tracks at the tender age of 15 after listening to the likes of the legendary Notorious B.I.G , Tupac Shakur, Nas and Eminem. He recorded a mixtape with a rap group called the ‘Da Movement’ which gained little exposure but garnered a positive response.Reali-T wanted to stand out and be different from other rappers, so he decided to integrate his natural wit into his tracks. Jaywon - Afurumgi N'anya Ft Flavour

This is definitely the song that makes the album reloaded.
I must commend the production quality, The mix and Mastering, top quality. Jaywon is definitely talented because it is not easy for anyone without a highlife background to sing on a highlife beat.
This song wouldn’t be complete without the input of the crowned Prince of modern Highlife in Nigeria, Flavour.
Flavour as usual did his Magic. Talented is now an under statement when describing him. he definitely knows how to tickle our fancies.
A must listen!

Terry G – Jah Hailo

Terry G is out with a brand new single, which is apparently the 3rd single off the Terry G’zuz LP, and its nothing but madness this time around, I dont know if it is a gospel track, or if it is a love song, but what I can say is that its the usual Free Madness.Listen

Willy Bang – Hi Hi + She Bahd

Knighthouse recording artiste, Willy Bang, steps out with TWO smashing new singles, “Hi Hi” and “She Bahd“! Back in April, we posted “ABC“, a song he did with Dammy Krane. However, on these two songs, Willy Bang shows he can be a hitmaker all by himself.
After listening to “Hi Hi“, you’ll get that “Hola @ Ur Boi” feeling; that thing inside you that screams “this is a hit!” Fear not; It’s the “DJ Klem Effect” you’re experiencing. “She Bahd” is also a very appealing commercial tune. I wouldn’t put it past Willy Bang and Knighthouse to score major hits with these two songs. I love both!

VIDEO: Ice Prince – Superstar

Here’s the video for Ice Prince’s 2nd official single “Superstar”, a club and radio friendly song that also captures Ice’s lyrical prowess. His debut album “Everybody Loves Ice Prince” E.L.I is at a very advanced stage and should be released some time in the month of September. I don’t need to tell you to look out for the album as you should already know that it will be a solid debut judging from the success of  SuperStar and his bigger single Oleku. Check out the hot steaming Video from Ice Prince Hmmmmmmmmm  Super Star video

Cyrus Tha Virus – Carnival Queen

Bengazi boy, Cyrus ThaVirus, steps out with a new club/party single titled “Carnival Queen” (Manna Manna). Its a nice take on wooing the hottest girl in the party over mad staccato snares and heavy kicks… the carnival queen that every player wants to take home at the end of the night. I love Cyrus’ energy and the way he puts alot of force into his delivery. Good ish!
